![]() ![]() It is complex, it is thought-provoking and it is clever, and I cannot work out which genre this falls under. Don't get me wrong however, this is a very individual book with its own flavour profile and it probably won't be to everyone's tastes. ![]() It also reminded me a little of Stephen King when he is at his finest. Whilst reading it, I felt that this was cousin to Vita Nostra in theme. I deeply cared about the two protagonists, and I felt their responses to the situation and each other were realistic and believable in the context of their character's development. I'm always amazed by SM's prolific output even if I don't always click with everything she has written, but this is a book from a writer at the top of her game. I'm not very good at reviews, I can only really express my feelings about a book once finished rather than a skillfully written analysis, so I'll tell you that I was really impressed with this work. So I just finished Middle-game by Seanan McGuire and I'm surprised I haven't seen more buzz about this book around here. ![]()
